(Published in the Lawrence Daily Journal-World on September 20, 2019) NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) and HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS (HOME) PROGRAMS The City of Lawrence Community Development Division of Planning and Development Services Department will conduct a public hearing on its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Programs with the Affordable Housing Advisory Board on Monday, October 14, 2019, at 12:00 Noon in the City Commission Chambers, First Floor, City Hall, 6 East 6th Street, Lawrence, Kansas, 66044. The hearing is intended to provide the following: 1. A discussion of the City's performance in implementation of past CDBG and HOME activities, especially those funded during the past program year. The Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) will be completed and will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (the federal agency which funds the program) by October 31, 2019. Copies of the performance report will be available for review on September 23, 2019, in the Community Development Division offices, 1 River- front Plaza, Suite 320 and online at www.lawrence ks.org/pds. The written comment period for the CAPER will be thirty (30) days from the date of the publication, until October 23, 2019. Written comments may be sent to the Community Development Division, P.O. Box 708, Lawrence, KS 66044 or emailed to dwalters@lawrence ks.org. 2. General information about the CDBG and HOME programs, as well as the Consolidated Plan. 3. A forum for suggested future CDBG and HOME activities for the upcoming program year (August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021), and to discuss procedures for making proposals for CDBG or HOME funded activities. 4. An opportunity for Lawrence citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties to express and discuss their opinions about the needs of low and moderate income persons, housing and community development needs, and other needs in Lawrence they feel are important. Additionally, it will be an opportunity for Lawrence citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties to provide input towards the creation of the amended Citizen Participation Plan. _______
