The position will use both telephone and writing skills to attract new subscribers and keep existing subscribers. The position will manage accounts for the print edition of the Lawrence Journal-World and digital subscription accounts for LJWorld.com and KUsports.com. Required Skills • Kind, personable demeanor that is comfortable talking with customers on the phone. • Writing skills to craft professional email messages to customers. • Good working knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. • Reliability and a willingness to work in an office environment that involves interaction with both co-workers and customers who come to our office for assistance. • Basic physical skills that involve occasional mailroom duties, such as preparing mail bags, moving bundles of newspapers and other such tasks. • A valid driver’s license to accommodate occasional duties of driving a delivery van to post offices and other locations. The Subscription Specialist is a full-time, hourly position that generally has a daytime schedule of Monday through Friday, however, occasional weekend and early morning work is expected.
