Lecompton Road Superintendent The Road Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all township roads, culverts, and rights-of-way. This includes supervising road crews, planning maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities • Inspect township roads and infrastructure to identify maintenance and safety needs. • Plan, schedule, and coordinate routine and emergency road maintenance, snow removal, grading, mowing, and drainage projects. • Operate and maintain township equipment such as graders, dump trucks, mowers, and snowplows. • Supervise road crew employees, contractors, and seasonal workers. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, materials, equipment hours, and personnel schedules. • Recommend purchases of materials, equipment, and services. • Respond to resident concerns and service requests related to road conditions. • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Minimum Qualifications • Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Class B required • Experience operating heavy equipment such as graders, backhoes, and snowplows. • Basic mechanical skills for maintenance of township vehicles and equipment. • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and respond to snowstorms or road closures as needed.
