Lecompton Road Superintendent The Road Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all township roads, culverts, and rights-of-way. This includes supervising road crews, planning maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities Inspect township roads and infrastructure to identify maintenance and safety needs. Plan, schedule, and coordinate routine and emergency road maintenance, snow removal, grading, mowing, and drainage projects. Operate and maintain township equipment such as graders, dump trucks, mowers, and snowplows. Supervise road crew employees, contractors, and seasonal workers. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, materials, equipment hours, and personnel schedules. Recommend purchases of materials, equipment, and services. Respond to resident concerns and service requests related to road conditions. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Minimum Qualifications Valid CDL (Commercial Drivers License) Class B required Experience operating heavy equipment such as graders, backhoes, and snowplows. Basic mechanical skills for maintenance of township vehicles and equipment. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and respond to snowstorms or road closures as needed.
